about

The opening section of “Lost World,” track five of "And every fleck of russet." is the first of two multi-section-work on the album. The statement of the theme is followed by an intertwined two-piano solo section, leading, after two and a half minutes, to a brooding, steadily churning choral-like segment. A brief return of the opening theme, transposed to a new key provides a bridge to a buoyant melody, followed by a slower paced piano solo. The angst of the second begins a coda, which finds resolution in a more upbeat mood.
