about

After an ominous beginning, “Enmeshed,” track six of "And every fleck of russet," unfolds as a homage to the spinning motion of the C-minor Prelude from Bach’s Well Tempered Clavier. The rapid, steady pace slows dramatically as the two-and-a-half-minute point approaches, into a reverberation saturated section. At 4:40, sonic clarity is restored, in a spare, timeless passage that fades back into the fog, only to be restored just after six minutes. Spinning motion returns, this time at a slow tempo. Piano, now joined by dulcimer, guides the listener to a conclusion that questions as much as it offers resolution.
